HDT VK Group 3

Unlike the VH, The VK did not have a Group 1, 2 and 3, instead coming in the Group 3 version only (apart from the SS and Group A) and was based on the Berlina and as such, received full instrumentation and tinted tail lights, but no electrics. This new car was available in either Alpine White or Asteroid Silver and had the bonnet bulge (as they called it) and the wind splitters as options. Most cars didn't have the wind splitters on the The VK also saw the introduction of the new Aero rims, on whch the VK Group 3 was fitted with a flush fitting centre cap to cover the wheel nut holes. Momo rims were also an option. As mentioned in the Group A Fact File, Brock made a car called the Group A Group 3 which was a combination of the Group 3's extra refinement, with the grunt of the Group A's engine. The VK range also consisted of a Series I and II with some distinct differences. The Series I had a flat grille, with an SS sticker located on the top half. It also had the pull up door locks and the seat middles were just the Herringbone trim. The Series II got a HDT badge on the new more rounded grill taken from the Group A, had slide door locks, had pleated seats and received a 10 band Eurovox Graphic Equaliser mounted in the front of the centre console. See below for magazine articles on the VK Group 3.
